At the start of this holiday season, we would like to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving! We are especially thankful for our families, for freedom, our wonderful employees, and for great neighbors and friends.
A few years ago, a sentiment was shared with me that has stuck with me since. We often make lists this time of year of things we are thankful for. It is definitely a good thing to do, and helps us to take notice of simple blessings that we sometimes take for granted. However, it was suggested by my friend that, perhaps, more important than listing our gratitude, is living our gratitude. For example, if we say we are thankful for family, it should show in the way we treat them. If we are thankful for our parents, we will treat them with respect and dignity. If we are grateful to live in a good community, we are doing everything we can to make it an even better place to live, and will always looking for ways to serve and support our neighbors.
This year, lets all try a little harder to LIVE our gratitude! As we make note of all the things we are thankful for, let’s make sure we are living accordingly. We want to thank so many of you who are examples of service and citizenship- who are always looking for ways to live gratitude wherever you are. You inspire us to be better people!
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” -John F. Kennedy
