My bucket list of places I want to travel to is pretty long. At the top of that list is a road trip up the beautiful California coast. I have long wanted to travel up the coast of Northern California, seeing the beautiful forests meet the ocean and stopping to stay at beaches along the way. Since this trip is still in the dream stages, I enjoy spending time reading about the area through travel blogs, trip journals, and such.
Which is how I came to find this dreamy campground.
Located in Big Sur, the campground is located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In my reading, it is consistently named as a favorite site for those traveling the coast. Because of its popularity, the 32 campsites usually book out months ahead of time, especially on weekends. It is open year round, and located just a short walk to a rocky beach below. I was able to search around a bit reading the reviews to find which campsites had the best views and the most privacy.
Isn’t it beautiful? As one camper described Kirk Creek, “Welcome to post-card land!”
